Hollers & Horizons: One week out

Calling in community

Mark your calendars. The first installment of our new monthly series, Hollers & Horizons Appalachian Town Halls, convenes one week from today on Monday, January 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. ET.

What you can expect:

  • A presentation or workshop led by our facilitator(s) each month
  • A psychedelic (or adjacent) focus with relevance for Appalachia
  • Speakers from the region, or who can add their voices to our vision of giving Appalachia a place at the table as conversations and policy about psychedelics evolve
  • Plenty of time for questions and further discussion with you, our audience
  • A community experience driven by purpose and passion

This month, Appalachian Psychedelic Society co-founders Justin Moore and Ali McGhee will take the stage to share what we're up to and envisioning for the year ahead, including special sneak peeks of several new initiatives and opportunities that put our region front and center.

How to join us:

We've created an affordable, subscription-based model that allows us to offer you the best programming while helping us sustain the series.

$8/month gives you access to all Hollers & Horizons Town Halls (live and recording), as well as our Appalachian Psychedelic Historical Timeline and Policy Report – two education resources we've been pouring our hearts and minds into that will be shared after the Town Hall.

We're honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., today, and learning more about his visit to Tennessee and Highlander Folk School in 1957, when he was just 28 years old. Rosa Parks and Rev. Ralph Abernathy were in attendance as King spoke about the need for activism, the dangers of reactionary forces, and, ultimately, hope for the future. We're sharing in that vision of access, equity, and community-driven paths forward.

We can't wait to see you Monday.

A snow-covered forest road

Reschedule Announcement Y'all might have heard that a big storm is headed our way. For that reason, we've made the decision to reschedule our January 26 Hollers & Horizons. We're pushing back one week, to Monday, February 2. We'll kick off at the same time: 5 p.m. ET. Already registered? No need to do anything. We've updated it...

A man and woman smile in front of a bridge

2025 is coming to a close, and what a year it's been. At the end of 2024, our corner of Appalachia was still emerging from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. That work is still ongoing as the ripple effects continue in our community. We are heartened by the progress that's been made, while still mourning all that was lost. In spite of the immense changes wrought by the storm, we started this year with optimism, feeling into our own resilience as Appalachians. We also vowed to connect more...
